They austellus are extremely rare and they were only ever collected in very limited numbers and virtually all by Peter Clarkson and friends when they dived "The Patch" at Cape Le Grand intensively. Other than the odd dead specimen collected by ourselves, they are no longer collected. Historically they have sold at low prices as dwarf exoptanda but have recently been described as the full species Amoria austellus and justify a price review given their rarity.
This specimen was collected by a diver in 32 metres of water off Cape Le Grand, Esperance.
A magnificent specimen, conservatively graded as Gem-. The shell is hard to fault and hard to find such a quality specimen today.
